How To Understand Christian Texts

If you think that this particular god serves interests of a particular tribe - Jews, protects them, oversees them, and promises them as their own whichever land their feet step upon (Deuteronomy), then this statement makes sense.

Some people,among them quite a few Christians,are not sure about the sex of this humanlike deity,if we can sexually differentiate gods at all. What if He was actually She? Or three thousand years ago nobody could envision today's woman's rights ? Anyway,early Christian writers,and later Paul,decided that the god was male capable to bring a new baby into house of Joseph and Mary.

So one thing that we can be absolutely sure of is that he created baby Jesus. As for the Universe the whole Genesis story sounds to me 100% the same as my late greatgrandmother's ideas why TV box shows pictures and speaks human voices.

The people just did not and still do not want to believe that the world never began and it never will end, that the universe has no time or space limits ( there's no such thing as limits in the real world at all, limits are only to human sight and mind. If the world really was to start from nothing at some moment - before this should've existed these very Nothing, Moment, Start-Up Pattern, and an Outer Container to contain the whole process, including God the Creator, His tools and materials) and God was hanging around doing nothing, so the ancient people assigned Him several tasks, almost Herculean - create :

1. Sun
2. Moon
3. Earth
4. Water
5. Sky
6. Stars
7. Animals and Plants - for human consumption
8. Man and his Wife

Interesting thing that first God created food, and only after He/She made sure that humans won't go hungry, created consumers. Which does not look strange if you think of it as a kind of business plan written and handed to the god by a man.

If this is His only world (Planet Earth with humans as main population) He ever created, then, indeed, he has enough time, energy and resources to oversee, manage, and enjoy His creation. From the other hand, if He created millions more of worlds like this, He might be very busy.

So between His inspection trips that happen every 1000 - 2000 years or so, things down here without God's close supervision tend to get out of control, and He might even hate His Creation sometime. The bad thing is people have never seen Him face to face (who knows, maybe our Younger Brothers, actually, Older Brothers, as they were created earlier, right after stars in heaven - tigers, horses, roaches, and other bugs have seen Him and thus know the truth).

And because people have never seen Him, different people, tribes and nations have different visions of Him, don't agree with each other and feel obliged to teach each other with sword and fire, or book. Here we are talking about Judeo-Christian vision of God.

This one is very important point, the very center of developed World Religions - Homocentrism. People think about themselves as special, as favorite creatures and children of their Father - God (Mother ?). Again, does He have plan for His other children - Sun, stars, Earth, trees, clouds, cows? Has He abandoned them,and does not care anymore? Or they are simply not His children? Do they have their own Father-Gods and their own plans?

Or our God has plans for them, too, but these plans are secret or so unfair that humans can destroy all His other creatures without a real fear of punishment. Think of this - today's humankind weighs as much as whole krill population in all World Oceans,and as much as one sugar cube volume equivalent of a neutron star matter. That's a lot! In twenty years from now the Earth will be rid of forests and animals and covered with humans,their roads,houses,cemeteries,and wastes.

If He really has a plan for mankind,that plan is very inefficient or may be even lost long ago en route from Egypt to Jericho.

The most primitive human religions - animistic, tribal,with shamans,witches etc.,teach that the universe is filled with good and evil spirits,teaches to coexist with the spirits,and even consider animals, rocks, plants, fish as equal, which is the truth. Because we are equal,and because humans are the only species on Earth that are actively destroying Earth.

This is simply not true.This is what preachers preach to make their living.

Saves from what or whom? From His own Dies Ira (God's Wrath) ? Jews used to believe that the God would save them from wrath of other tribes and kingdoms, and it never happened (not the wrath,though).Then they converted Roman goyim into this reformed Judaism, and Romans were handed the idea of being saved without being punished.

First they would simply buy indulgencia from priests, nowadays you just pay one tenth, pray, and - bingo!; you're saved...so long as you pay to Church. So to say, Church has bought from God all rights to save and redeem .
